A Recipe
Today I went running in a forest. Lately, I have been thinking about the way deer move while I run, and I like thinking about my feet being light and graceful. [So perhaps I am wishful?! I have always had a good imagination. ; ) ]
But what is better than light and graceful feet?!? A light and graceful heart! Mine feels that way now, and I am not imagining it.
I feel content and full of joy and wonder at the world.
Now I am reflecting on three thoughts that have been cooking in my mind today.
(1) From Born to Run: Caballo Blanco's instructions for running fast: Easy. Light. Smooth.
(2) John Stuart Mill's idea that happiness is a paradox, never found when it is pursued for its own sake, but always as a side effect of the pursuit of some other.
(3) Lao-tzu: Who can make the muddy water clear? Let it be still, and it will gradually become so.
Funny little mix of ingredients made something that thoroughly satisfied my hungry heart : )
